The Everything ABC's BLOG HOP - Letter 'L'

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter L.

If you came from Linda Norman- Scrappy Therapy then you're on the right track!

I think layering is important to the balance of your work. May it be cards, scrapbook pages, or even altered art.
For this tutorial, I am using retired Blossom B&T paper, Lagoon Card stock, White Daisy Card stock, Gold Simmer Trim, Hollyhock, Black and Sorbet ink.

Starting out I have an 11 x 4.25 Blossom B&T cut, along with a 2 x 4,25 white daisy, stamped with my choice of sentiment...

Fold the Blossom in half, then I add my stamped sentiment piece. Looks Good. I could stop here...but I am going to keep going...

I am Layering a flower, to the empty space....I can stop here...but I am going to keep going...

Layering a lagoon card stock under the white daisy, really give this some character...I can stop...But I think i will keep going...

I am going to Layer the flower back in. WOW, it's really taking shape. I can so stop here, but I am going to keep going.

Layering a smaller flower in a contrasting color to the larger flower, adds depth to the card...I am going to keep going...

You can't have a flower with out Layering in some leaves....I just need to add something more...

Gold Shimmer Trim, layered under the lagoon card stock really gives this card that POP it needed.

So Layering gives the project depth, texture, and character. While the project will do just fine alone, the wow factor is really in layering...

Below is the completed card, along with a variation in sentiment and shimmer trim on another card... I also gave some depth to the layered flowers, by curling the petals.

Thank you so much for stopping by. Please leave a comment with your layering tips!
